Kitchen Garden Month 2024
Grab your fresh produce and gardening gloves – it’s almost September and that means it’s about to be Kitchen Garden Month! After our inaugural celebration in 2023, we’re so excited to bring it back during our 20th anniversary to share gardening and cooking advice from experts and celebrate the big impact even the smallest of kitchen gardens can make.
Start small, dream big
We created Kitchen Garden Month as a way to share the incredible impact that growing, harvesting, preparing and sharing fresh seasonal food has on children, young people and their communities.
We’ve seen firsthand the many positive outcomes of our globally recognised Kitchen Garden Program, including children's increased willingness to try new foods, significant increases in children's knowledge, confidence and skills in cooking and gardening and improvements in student engagement and social connection.
Our focus during #KitchenGardenMonth, is to get the word out about our mission, welcome people into our community and strive for improved health outcomes for all Australian children and young people.
Join in on all the fun
Our September calendar is jam-packed with exciting events, projects and goodies for our community to enjoy. Whether you’re a long-time member of our program or keen to learn more, enjoy all the freebies and events on offer.
