 In 2007 the Ngaanyatjarra Lands School was created as a multi campus school with a joint agreement undertaken by the State and Federal governments with the Ngaanyatjarra Council. Tjirrkarli Campus is one of  ten individual remote community school sites in Ngaanyatjarra Shire which shares boundaries with the borders of The Northern Territory and South Australia. The communities are scattered over 159000 square kilometres and are situated where families maintain a rich cultural heritage with close connections to their land their language and their families.
