Challis Primary School is unique to the WA Department of Education as it only enrols children from Year 3 to Year 7. It shares its site with Challis Early Childhood Centre which caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 2. Both schools have recently been granted 'Independent Public School' status as a cluster and as such will continue to develop the provision of education for their specific age groups in an innovative and targeted manner but will work together to consolidate practices which suit the needs of their shared community. The school is located in a low socio economic section of the Armadale City Council an outer Perth metropolitan shire. It has worked very hard with the local community and other government and non government agencies to develop programs and services which support the needs of the local families.
