Wasleys Primary School is located within the DECD region of Barossa on the lands of the Kaurna People in the picturesque town of Wasleys. The town is just 10 minutes drive north from Gawler. We are a Category 3 school with just 50 students but we will experience significant growth in the near future due to new affordable housing developments in the town. The core values of the school are teamwork, honesty and respect. Staff and community work together in partnership to support students to be the best they can be through the provision of high quality teaching and learning experiences that have a focus on continuous improvement in literacy and numeracy outcomes. To support this improvement staff have engaged in focused literacy and numeracy professional learning, and have developed whole-school literacy and numeracy agreements that guide practices and performance. The school plays an important role in the community by advocating for the needs of the school and its students in a range of forums, and, through working in partnership with the Wasleys community group and local government and agencies to address the need for localised and equitable access to services and resources.
