Walhallow is 370 kilometres from Sydney and 32 kilometres west of the nearest sizeable town of Quirindi and has the small village of Caroona as its neighbour. Walhallow is a former Aboriginal reserve previously known as Caroona.The school is a proud icon and affirmity of public education that has withstood droughts, floods, famine and roving populations. Walhallow Public School is one of five schools in New South Wales with an all-Aboriginal enrolment which currently stands at 17.
