Hillvue Public School serves a diverse community in south Tamworth. The school receives strong support from its Parents and Citizens Association, the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group and community organisations. In 2006, the school was invited to be a Schools in Partnership. An experienced staff and supportive community work continuously to implement programs to develop the skills of our students. In 2008 the school received an Excellence in Aboriginal Education Award for its exemplary practices in addressing the learning and well-being needs of its students. The school has also received a Director-General's School Achievement Award for Student Welfare and in 2009 the NSW Nanga Mai Award for Outstanding School.
