Forster Public School is situated on the coast only metres from the beach. Talent development opportunities are offered through participation in creative and performing arts, sporting and academic competitions (UNSW, Tournament of the Minds and Murder Under the Microscope), and cultural and debating activities. The school received an Education Week Excellence Award for the school's Student Welfare program in 2006.
