Bourke Public School has a current population of over 200 students, 75% of which are of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent. Bourke Public School receives funding through the Priority Schools Program (PSP), the Country Areas Program (CAP), Schools In Partnerships (SIPS), National Partnerships Low SES and National Partnerships Literacy and Numeracy which all allow for extra programs to be implemented to support students in isolated areas, low socio-economic areas and Aboriginal students.
