Grab your spring produce and gardening gloves — it’s September, which means it’s Kitchen Garden Month! We’re excited to celebrate for the third year running with a line-up of events, fresh resources, and special surprises, including a free pollinator webinar, new recipes and brand-new posters for Kitchen Garden Program members.

Kitchen gardens for all Australian children

We created Kitchen Garden Month to share the incredible impact that growing, harvesting, preparing and sharing fresh, seasonal food has on children, young people, and their communities.

We’ve seen first-hand the many positive outcomes of our globally recognised Kitchen Garden Program, including children's increased willingness to try new foods, significant increases in children's knowledge, confidence, and skills in cooking and gardening, as well as improvements in student engagement and social connection.

This month, our focus is on kitchen garden inclusivity: sharing ideas, tips, and stories to inspire you to make your kitchen and garden activities as welcoming and accessible as possible.

Join in on all the fun

Our September calendar is jam-packed with exciting events, content and goodies for our community to enjoy. Whether you’re a long-time member of our program or keen to learn more, enjoy all that’s on offer.

Free webinar | Create a native pollinator garden

Do you want to create a vibrant garden that's buzzing with biodiversity? Heartscapes’ founder Emma Cutting will show you how. With the support of her local community, Emma is flowering up nature strips, car parks, and schools to create a thriving pollinator corridor in her suburb.

She'll share how you can do it too during a free webinar on Thursday 18 September. This workshop is free for everyone, including non-members!
