Joining forces with Australia’s leading grower of fresh produce

Sunday, March 2, 2025

The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation and Costa Group have partnered in a values-aligned partnership that ensures more children and young people from around Australia experience pleasurable food education.

Costa Group is Australia’s leading grower of fresh fruit and vegetables, including avocadoes, bananas, berries, citrus, table grapes, mushrooms and tomatoes. They are committed to playing a part in making Australia’s fresh produce supply chain and sector as sustainable as it can be and contributing to the nation’s food security so as many Australians as possible can eat healthy and nutritious food, affordably.

CEO of the Kitchen Garden Foundation, Cathy Wilkinson, said “We are very proud to work alongside Costa Group who share our vision of equipping communities across Australia with preventative, positive education about fresh, delicious food.”

This three-year partnership will support 30 schools located in rural and regional communities where Costa Group has farms. These schools will benefit from a membership to the Kitchen Garden Program and receive a grant to develop the kitchen garden infrastructure they need to get started. Costa will also support 1000 Kitchen Garden Program schools already participating in the program and sponsor an award category at the 2025 National Kitchen Garden Awards.

We are delighted to be teaming up with the Foundation in this new partnership.”

The impactful work of the Kitchen Garden Foundation is only made possible with the continued support of our partners. We sincerely thank Costa Group for their vision, commitment and generosity.
