We need your help!

Friday, August 7, 2015

Here at the Foundation, we are striving to establish our future financial sustainability – more than ever we need your help to continue to create positive social change.

With your support and the incredible work of over 800 Kitchen Garden Schools, we have achieved huge milestones - 100,000 Australian children are now accessing pleasurable food education!

Still, the childhood obesity crisis is growing, with currently 1 in 4 Australian children overweight or obese. Studies show that the leading causes of the problem are lifestyle related, and recent research demonstrates that poor diet now generates more disease than physical inactivity, alcohol and smoking combined – no amount of physical activity can combat the effects of bad eating.

It is clear we are at crisis point and the need to address this via education at an impressionable age is vital. However, as of 30 June 2015 the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation has come to the end of our critical Australian Government funding, with no ongoing contribution in sight.

We are asking for your support to enable us to continue sharing our successful model of pleasurable food education to an even broader Australian audience, through the Kitchen Garden Classroom. With your help, the participation of schools and our wonderfully supportive partners, we know we can build our future.

Even if you can't donate now, please help spread the word that the Foundation needs the support of the community – we need people power too, and your continued good will means the world to us.

Thank you!

CEO Ange Barry and the Kitchen Garden Foundation Team
