Rose Creek Estate Open Day – your invitation!

Rose Creek Estate opens its gates on Sunday 30 August, and you’re invited to experience a slice of Italy in Melbourne’s suburbs! Visitors can picnic in the vast garden, sip the estate’s own wine, soak up its olive oil in homemade bread and devour wood-fired pizzas – all while raising funds for the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation. What more could you want?
Innovative urban farmers Lina and Tony Siciliano have transformed the sloping block of land in East Keilor into a suburban oasis with a varied and productive garden. Their abundant plantings now include 3000 grapevines, 500 olive trees, 40 different herbs and vegetable beds brimming with produce, as well as a large chicken coop supplying eggs to the estate.
Lina and Tony make award-winning olive oil and wine with their produce, and the Open Day will give visitors a chance to sample their wines, oils and homemade wood-fired bread.
The Kitchen Garden Foundation team will also be busy cooking a range of delicious pizzas, with fresh seasonal ingredients, in the estate’s wood-fired oven. There will also be a sausage sizzle, live music, a Victorian Herb Society herb stall, a coffee cart and guided tours of the extensive garden.
So pack a picnic rug and come along for a day of good food and entertainment in an idyllic setting.
The Rose Creek Estate Open Day is from 11am-4.30pm on Sunday 30 August at 2 Craig St, East Keilor.
Entry is $5, with all proceeds donated to the Foundation to support pleasurable food education for Australian children.
