Catering for the needs of kitchen garden educators
Educators can now undertake kitchen garden professional learning anytime, anywhere, at a low cost and in under 30 minutes!
The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation asked just under 100 educators what they wanted from online professional learning and here’s what you told us:
- More than 75% of teachers want to complete the learning at their own pace.
- Over 80% told us they want access to materials between 3pm and 10pm, Monday to Friday, and occasionally on weekends.
- Close to 75% asked for more videos and hands-on activities.
We know educators have a lot on their plate and very limited time and budget for professional learning, so we’ve designed a fresh batch of kitchen garden learning catered to your needs.
The new menu includes a range of courses from:
- Appetisers – bite-sized inspirational tips, refresher ideas and skills training
- Entrées – skills for the kitchen, the garden and across your curriculum
- Mains – substantial insights into ‘best-practice’ kitchen and garden classes.
This year, the Kitchen Garden Foundation has expanded on many fronts, from catering to early years and secondary schools, to entering the world of online learning. As with any garden, things take time to grow. Our goal is to build an active online professional learning community where educators are supported, empowered and engaged. This includes:
- Producing and sharing skills-based videos
- Live-streaming sessions with our experts
- Providing more options to meet educator needs
- Listening to our community.
To achieve our goal, we need your input. We want you to dive in and taste test what we have on offer. We know you have a lot on your plate, but please take the time to peruse our menu and let us know what you think. We look forward to learning together!
