Feeding Australia

‘Food is a fundamental human need and an essential part of our daily lives, providing sustenance vital for health and wellbeing’ - Stephanie Alexander AO
Recently, the Federal Government’s Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry released their National Food Security Strategy discussion paper.
At the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation, we believe that Australia deserves a future where every person, regardless of age or background, has the skills, access, and agency to participate in a healthy, sustainable food system.
We know that food access is just one part of food security, which is why we have submitted a response to the National Food Security Strategy.
Central to our response is advocating to the Government not to lose sight of the importance of building the capacity and agency of Australian children and young people through food education during their critical school years.
